Ismail Dogruer is a socialist, human rights, worker and refugee rights activist and Turkish Journalist living in Germany, married with 3 children. He was born in 1964 in Istanbul, Turkey. He lived in Turkey as a student, as a Gastronomy worker in restaurants and hotels and as a ceramic worker. During the September 12, 1980 Junta and the 1986 civilian government, he was arrested and tried many times for his political thoughts and attitudes. From 1993 to 1998 he worked as a redaktor and editor for socialist newspapers and magazines in Turkey. He left his country because of the unlawful sentences and the risk of extrajudicial execution that threatened his life and freedom.
Today he continues his life in Germany as a politically recognized person. He worked as a warehouse worker, transportation worker, forklift operator and professional truck driver in Germany. As a journalist with an international press card, he wrote articles for local and political newspapers. He interviewed Artists, Trade Unionists, Writers, Politicians and Social Rights Activists. He gave speeches at congresses, conferences and panels on culture, art, politics and political developments in Turkey. In 2016, he founded Simurg Media Workshop. He published the digital newspaper „SimurgNews“ for 4 years with a collective work with more than 40 Journalists, Writers, Historians, Researchers, Writers, Artists, Human Rights and Social Rights Activists. And he was the editor-in-chief.
Currently, as a book editor, photographer, webmaster and freelancer journalist, she produces articles, news, social reports, interviews, photographs and video-news content on Labor, Migrants, Asylum Seekers, Women and Children’s rights, War, Europe, Middle East and Central Asia.
